Box Score MANKATO, Minn. - The Bethany women's soccer team had been held without a goal in each of its last three contests. They were hoping a non-conference home matchup with Buena Vista might cure their scoring woes. The Vikings were able to get on the scoreboard, but they weren't able to get in the win column as they tied the Beavers 1-1. It's the Vikings second straight even match and third on the season.
Bethany broke its scoreless drought early on as
Tori Wilking scored her first goal of her collegiate career by putting in a rebound off an
Asia Owens shot in the game's 12th minute to give the Vikings the early lead.
That lead would hold until the 74th minute when BVU's Samantha Richards caught BLC goalie
Alexa Mowery out too far and was able to rifle a shot in the open net for the equalizer.
Neither team was able to score in the 20 extra minutes. Mowery ended with 11 saves. Each team shot 22 times with 12 being on target for the Beavers compared to seven for the Vikings.
Bethany (3-5-3) wraps up their six-game homestand with a UMAC game against rival Martin Luther Thursday at 5 p.m.
