Box Score FOREST CITY, Iowa - The Bethany women's basketball team held a lead from halfway through the first half until midway through the second, but they weren't able to hold onto the advantage as the Vikings dropped a non-conference road game at Waldorf Wednesday night 59-47.
A pair of
Jade Pelzl free throws gave Bethany its first lead at 11-9 with 13:10 to go in the first half and they would build on that lead. An
Aimie Wiechmann three towards the end of the half gave the Vikings a 26-19 edge going into the break.
Pelzl's jumper gave Bethany its biggest lead at 36-27 with 14:35 remaining in the game, but baskets were hard to come by after that. The Warriors went on an 11-2 run to equal the game at 38 and would continue on with that spurt throughout the rest of the game to give the Vikings the 12-point setback.
Kasslin Swenson collected her third double-double in five games going for 11 points and ten rebounds. Pelzl led the team with 14 points.
The Vikings (1-4) return home Friday to take on Central College at 5:30 p.m.
