Box Score MANKATO, Minn. - The Bethany women's basketball team played host to the Central College Dutch Friday night in hopes of putting an end to the Dutch's five game winning streak to start the season. The Vikings started out strong holding a 12-point halftime advantage, but Central stormed back in the second to overtake Bethany 65-58.
BLC scored the game's first seven points and extended that lead to 14 after a
Jade Pelzl layup en route to a 34-22 halftime lead.
Kasslin Swenson had 14 points in the game's first 20 minutes doing the bulk of her scoring from the charity stripe going 10-for-12 from the line.
The Dutch came out strong to start the second half though going on a 11-0 run in just over three minutes to trim The Vikings lead to one. A
Rudy Ruffin 3-point play followed and they held on to a slim lead until 5:46 remained when Central took its first lead of the game on a Kaitlin Stump lay-in. The Dutch closed the game on a 13-6 run to stay unbeaten.
Swenson led three Bethany players in double figures with 14 points. Ruffin added 11 and Pelzl scored 10.
Bethany (1-5) is off until a week from Saturday when they host Wis.-Superior for a 3 p.m. start at the Sports and Fitness Center.
