Women's Basketball

Women beat Crown to wrap up season

Box Score St. Bonifacius, Minn. - The Bethany women's basketball team wanted to end their season with a good feeling and that's what they got when they cruised by Crown 92-52 Saturday. The Vikings end their season with a 6-8 UMAC mark and an 8-17 overall record.

Kasslin Swenson and Shelby Wiederhoeft, each two-time UMAC Player of the Week winners, each scored 18 points against the Storm and reach recorded double figures in rebounds. Kelsie Ammann, playing in her final collegiate game, scored a season-high 17 points and fellow senior Sarah Rosenau scored 11 in her final game. The third senior, Amanda Edmison, grabbed 11 rebounds. Freshman Briana Brandts added 12 points.

After shooting for only 20 percent from the floor on Friday, Bethany shot exactly 50 percent on Saturday (32-for-64).

The UMAC Women's Basketball Tournament begins Wednesday with #4 St. Scholastica (8-6 in UMAC) at #1 UM-Morris (14-0) and #3 Martin Luther (9-5) at #2 Northwestern (11-3).
