Box Score MANKATO, Minn. - Coming off back to back double overtime contests, the BLC women's soccer team was hoping to propel that momentum into their matchup against conference opponent the University of Minnesota-Morris Cougars. The Cougars got an early lead and never looked back, however, and the Vikings suffered a 4-0 home loss.
Freshman
Asia Owens took the Vikings only shot for the game in the tenth minute before it was saved by Torri Jordan. The Cougars' Rachel Burns put the first goal on the board in the 28th minute to go up 1-0 and Carly Denler put another one into the back of the net seconds before intermission to grab a 2-0 lead.
Kebra Rogers and Rachel Burns each earned a goal for the Cougars as their strong defense led them to the shutout victory.
Senior Goalkeeper
Alexa Mowery put in a solid effort and had nine saves for the Vikings, combating the 23 total shots of the Cougars.
The Bethany women's soccer team will try to rebound in their next game Friday at 2:15 pm at home against St. Scholastica.
