Box Score MANKATO, Minn. - The Bethany women's soccer team started their final home weekend series of the season Friday night against Northland. A late Lumberjills score broke a tie and it dealt the Vikings a 2-1 setback.
Bethany got their goal early on in the match with some beautiful touch-and-go passing.
Scotia MacNeil led
Nicole Moldstad in stride who laid a perfect pass to
Bridget Hennen who connected to the lower right corner of the net for a 1-0 BLC lead in the ninth minute. The goal was Hennen's ninth this season and Moldstad's assist gives her 12, which leads the conference.
Northland tied the game ten minutes later on Madeleine Wieland's conference-leading 15th goal.
It remained 1-1 until the 74th minute when NC's Laura Rethmann drove home the game-winning goal off a rebound.
Bethany (6-8-1, 5-4 in UMAC) has their home finale Saturday against St. Scholastica at 5 p.m.
