Women shutdown North Central

Box Score MANKATO, Minn. - In a dominating display, the Bethany women's soccer team shutout North Central University 4-0 in UMAC women's soccer action Friday.

Bethany outshot the Rams 30-7 with a 17-2 edge in shots on goal.

Bethany first's goal of the game might have caught some people off guard. Lindsey Stewart received a pass from just inside the circle near midfield and what appeared like a chip pass towards the goal was actually lofted perfectly over Rams' goalkeeper Taylor Patch into the center of the net. Stewart's first collegiate goal gave the Vikings a 1-0 lead.

Almost three minutes later the lead doubled as Julia Putz laced a low left-footed liner to the left corner of the net for a 2-0 lead. Asia Owens and Nicole Moldstad assisted on the goal.

Owens and Moldstad connected again for the third goal in the 59th minute as Moldstad connected for her sixth goal of the season. Bridget Hennen put a cap on the win in the 75th with her fifth tally on the year.

Bethany (4-6-1, 3-2 in UMAC) remains at home for a 3 p.m. tilt Saturday against Northwestern.
