Box Score MANKATO, Minn. - Bethany wrapped up their five-game homestand Sunday afternoon as they entertained Wartburg College. The Knights broke open a tight game at halftime and defeated the Vikings 93-53 in men's basketball action.
The first ten minutes of the game was controlled by Bethany. A
Nick Sanborn jumper and a
Dalton Kleinschmidt 3 gave the Vikings a 5-0 lead. They maintained the advantage until the Knights tied it at 15 with 9:48 left in the first half. Wartburg slowly and steadily built a lead as their advantage went to double digits by half's end at 39-26.
Wartburg came out on fire on in the second half and maintained it through the second 20 minutes. They shot 62 percent in the second half including 8-for-13 from beyond the arc en route to the 40-point win.
Sanborn led BLC with 14 points. Kleinschmidt added ten and
Nate Chadderdon had a near double-double with nine points and 13 rebounds.
Nick Webber led four Knight players in double figures with 17 points.
Bethany (0-8) next plays Thursday at Buena Vista.
