Box Score MORRIS, Minn. --- A day after a thrilling victory over Crown, the Bethany men's basketball team was back on the road to face conference-leading Minn.-Morris. The game was tight in the first half, but the Cougars broke open the game in the second and gave the Vikings a 70-55 setback.
The comeback mentality Bethany displayed Friday night was evident in the first half Saturday against the Cougars. The Vikings found themselves down by nine eight minutes into the game. BLC slowly crept back in. A
Trent Kuechenmeister 3 tied the game at 32 with 4:23 left in the first and
Mitch Hopkins followed with a jumper giving Bethany the lead with 3:16 remaining. The Cougars finished the half on a 7-2 run though to take a 39-36 lead into halftime.
Minn.-Morris started the second half on a 12-2 run and went on to outscore the Vikings 31-19 in the game's second twenty minutes.
Kuechenmeister led BLC with 15 points and Hopkins recorded a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
Bethany (4-14, 3-4 in UMAC) starts a 3-game homestand Tuesday when they entertain Martin Luther at 7:30 p.m.
