Box Score 2 MANKATO, Minn. - After losing to St. Scholastica on Friday, Bethany hoped to get in the win column as they hosted the Saints for a doubleheader on Saturday. Hits were tough to come by as the Vikings dropped both games.
After the Saints scored in the top first, Bethany answered with a run of their own in the bottom.
Blake Kerzich led off with a double to right and advanced to third on a sacrifice bunt from
Lucas Herd. Kerzich scored two batters on an RBI ground out from
Nate Lee.
Bethany took the lead in the third when Lee drove in Herd with an RBI single to right.
Vikings' starting pitcher
Cory Ferm maintained that lead until the fifth when St. Scholastica scored twice to take the lead. The Saints scored three more times in the seventh as they came away with the 6-2 win.
In the second game, Bethany trailed 3-0 after seven. They put a rally together in the eighth to make the game interesting. Kerzich and
Dylan Gass singled to help load the bases with one out. Herd brought in
