Box Score ASHLAND, Wis. - The Bethany women's soccer team bounced back nicely following a defeat in Duluth on Friday to top Northland Saturday 5-3 in a UMAC matchup.
The Vikings got on the board quickly when
Anna Rouse scored her second goal of the season from a
Nicole Moldstad assist in the game's third minute.
Asia Owens put Bethany up 2-0 in the 19th minute as five different Vikings netted goals in the balance attack.
Bethany would lose in the two goal in the 77th minute and Northland's Madeleine Wieland was the reason why as she scored a hat trick with goals in the 49th, 52nd, and 77th minute to put Northland up 3-2.
Four minutes after the Lumberjills took the lead, Bethany tied it up when Moldstad and Rouse connected again, this time with Moldstad scoring from Rouse.
Julia Putz regained the lead for the Vikings in the 84th minute and
Bridget Hennen sealed the win the 86th minute.
Megan Zeller saved eight Lumberjill shots to record the win in net for BLC as they outshot Northland 20-18 and 13-11 in shots on goal.
Bethany (3-6-1, 2-2 in UMAC) returns home to take on North Central Friday at 5 p.m.
