Box Score MANKATO, Minn. - After facing a grueling non-conference schedule, the Bethany men's basketball team opened at the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference portion of their schedule with a home date against Martin Luther. The Vikings led by six at halftime and would hang on for their first win of the season 66-62 over the Knights.

Miles Kelson made jumpers to make the score 28-19 with 2:26 to go in the half. Bethany would lead 29-23 at the break as they held the Knights to 31 percent shooting.
A Roddy 3 gave Bethany a 10-point advantage at 44-34 seven minutes into the second half. MLC did not back down though and would take the lead at 52-51 following an Austin Eisenmann 3 with eight minutes left. The Knights would maintain an advantage for the next two minutes before aÂ
Nate Chadderdon lay-in gave Bethany the lead back at 57-56. Another Chadderdon lay-up put Bethany up five at 63-58 with four minutes to go. MLC cut the game to two, but a pair ofÂ
Bradley Rose free throws iced the win with 13 seconds left.
Roddy led a quartet of Vikings in double figures with 15 points on 4-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc.Â
Zach Brandts had 12 points on 10-of-12 shooting from the charity stripe. Rose had 11 points and Chadderdon added 10.
Bethany (1-11, 1-0 in UMAC) remains at home for their next contest Friday against Minn.-Morris at 7:30 p.m.
