Box Score MANKATO, Minn. - The Bethany men's basketball team had a rocky start to their Upper Midwest Athletic Conference game with Minn.-Morris Friday night at the Sports and Fitness Center. The Cougars raced out a 17-0 lead en route to an 89-66 win over the Vikings.
The difference of the game was in the first six minutes. Bethany missed their first eight shots of the game while the Cougars made eight of their first ten shots to build their sizable early lead.
Brady Rose snapped the scoreless drought with a pair of free throws 7:11 into the game.
Dalton Kleinschmidt made Bethany's first field goal via the 3 with 11:46 remaining in the half. That got the Vikings on a little run and cut their deficit to ten at 30-20 following a
Luke Roddy 3. Minn.-Morris extended their lead back up to 15 by halftime.
The closest Bethany got to Minn.-Morris in the second half was 11 following a
Neil Eichten 3 with 11:40 to go.
Nick Sanborn led BLC with 16 points. Eichten added 13 and Brady Rose scored 11.
Bethany (1-12, 1-1 in UMAC) stays at home for another UMAC contest Saturday against Crown at 5 p.m.
