Viking men fall to Dutch

Box Score PELLA, Iowa - After a two-week layoff, the Bethany men's basketball team was back on the hardcourt for the first game of a two game Iowa road trip Friday at Central College. A sluggish shooting start doomed in the Vikings as they fell to the Dutch 80-45.

Both Bethany and Central had trouble finding the basket early on. The Vikings did lead 7-5 following a Zach Brandts jumper nearly seven minutes into the contest. Central started to go on a little run and slowly built a lead. Central shot 37 percent from the floor in the first half compared to Bethany's 15 percent as they led the Vikings 32-17 at the break.

Central shot 59 percent in the second half as they built a sizable advantage.

Bradley Rose had nine points and seven rebounds for Bethany. Brandts tied Rose with nine points.

Bethany (0-10) next plays Saturday at Coe College.
