Box Score ST. PAUL, Minn. - Northwestern put an end to Bethany's two-game win streak Saturday by defeating the Vikings 72-55 in a UMAC women's basketball matchup.
Northwestern, undefeated in conference play, jumped out to a big lead and used the 3-point shot to do. The Eagles made 9-of-15 (60 percent) from beyond to arc and built a 41-29 halftime edge.
Bethany's defensive pressure picked up in the second half as they held Northwestern to 38 percent shooting. The Vikings would shoot 31 percent as the Eagles would maintain a sizable advantage throughout.
Briana Brandts had another stellar effort picking up her second straight double-double and fourth of the season with 17 points and 16 rebounds.
Andrea DeBruzzi and
Dakota Ellinghuysen each scored 12.
Bethany (3-13, 2-3 in UMAC) next plays Friday home against Northland at 5:30 p.m.
