Mix Leads Vikings to Conference Win

MANKATO, Minn. – The women's soccer team came into the game on Tuesday night against MLC in third place in the UMAC, battling for a top spot into the post season tournament. The Vikings defeated the Knights in overtime by a score of 1-0 to improve to (8-6-2, 5-1-1) on the season.
 
Ali Mix (Okla. City, Okla./West Heights) found the back of the net in the 99th minute of play to lead the Vikings to another key conference win. The Vikings attempted 11 shots on goal compared to MLC's four. Mix attempted four shots while Lindsay Stewart (Albert Lea, Minn.) and Nicole Moldstad (North Mankato, Minn./Minnesota Valley Lutheran) attempted three and two shots, respectively.
 
The starting goalkeeper for the Vikings, Rachael Heidorn (Fergus Falls, Minn.), had four saves to earn her first UMAC conference win of the season.
 
On Saturday, October 17th, the Vikings will travel to Duluth to take on the Saints from St. Scholastica for another important conference game. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
