Saints Come Back to Beat Women's Soccer

 
DULUTH, Minn. – The Bethany women's soccer team traveled to St. Scholastica to take on the Saints in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference battle on Saturday afternoon. The Vikings scored the first goal of the game, but the Saints scored two unanswered goals to claim a 2-1 victory.
 
The first 25 minutes of the game were evenly played as Rachael Heidorn (Fergus Falls, Minn.) and Kelsey Reeves made multiple saves in goal for their teams. In the 29th minute of play, Lindsey Stewart (Albert Lea, Minn.) scored her first goal of the season off a corner kick from Lydia Wildauer (Port Washington, Wis./Luther Prep) to give the Vikings a 1-0 lead on the Saints.
 
St. Scholastica would quickly respond with two goals late in the first period of play to take a 2-1 lead on the Vikings into half.  The Vikings attempted six shots in the second half, with only one shot on goal compared to St. Scholastica's 11. The 2-1 score would be the final from St. Scholastica.
 
Bethany (8-7-2, 5-2-1) will next play on Wednesday, October 21 against Minn.-Morris on the road starting at 1 p.m.
