Woman's Soccer Stifles Finlandia

MANKATO, Minn. - In a non-conference battle the Vikings women's soccer team played host to Finlandia and defeated them 8-0. It was an all-around great effort by the Vikings as they had 57 shots, with 37 of them being on goal. On the defensive side, Bethany harnessed zero shots against throughout the whole game.

Seven different players scored goals for Bethany including two goals for Nicole Moldstad (North Mankato, Minn./MN Valley Lutheran) and a goal apiece for: Adalia Dualan (Carver, Minn./Chanhassen), Ali Mix (Oklahoma City, OK./Western Heights),Taylor Friehl (Albert Lea, Minn.), Bridget Hennen (Apple Valley, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran), Sarah Paul (Chisago Lakes, Minn.), and Katie Crnokrak (Monticello, Minn.). 

To go along with the scoring Moldstad, Mix, and Friehl each had two assists. While, Abby Goss (Neenah, Wis./Fox Valley Lutheran) and Kiana Krszjzaniek (Madison, WI./Lakeside) each recorded one. The winning goaltender on the day was Rachael Heidorn (Fergus Falls, Minn.).

With the win the Vikings improve to 7-6-2 on the season and become 4-1-1 in UMAC play. The next match for the Vikings will be a men's/women's soccer double header on Tuesday, October 13th against the Knights of MLC. The women will be playing at 5, while the men will play at 7, both being played on the Bethany Soccer Field. Come on out next Tuesday and support your Vikings.
