Box Score Vikings Outlast Central Dutch 74-65 in Women's Basketball
MANKATO, Minn. – Coming off a one-point loss against St. Olaf on Wednesday, the women's basketball team responded well on Saturday afternoon as they knocked off Central Dutch by a final of 74-65.
Freshman shooting guard
Haley Sandin finished the contest with 31 points, going 3-8 from three-point range and recording 12 points from the free throw line. Junior guard,
Minnie Frederick-Childress dished out four assists and logged four steals to go along with 19 points.
Briana Brandts finished the game with 11 points and seven rebounds in the efforts over Central.
The Vikings (2-1) played a solid 40 minutes of basketball to hold off the Dutch in the non-conference match-up. Bethany shot 40% (23-57) from mid-range and 44% (8-18) from beyond the arc while shooting 80% from the line. Bethany capitalized in many areas, benefiting off the 27 turnovers the Dutch gave the Vikings.
The Central Dutch (1-2) were led by Claire Marburger, who shot 11-17 from the field ending the game with 28 total points and 15 total rebounds.
On Tuesday, November 24
th the women's team will play the Carleton Knights starting at 7 p.m. in the Sports and Fitness Center.
