Women's Basketball Drops Battle at Macalester

 
ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Bethany women's basketball team competed at Macalester College on Monday night in non-conference action. The Vikings and Scots had 10 lead changes and were tied five different times before the Scots defeated Bethany 97-88 in overtime.
                                                                                               
Bethany shot 40% (30-75) from the field on Monday night in the high scoring affair against Macalester who shot 47% (32-68) throughout the game.
 
The Vikings out-rebounded Macalester 50-42. Briana Brandts had a season high of 17 points and 15 rebounds to record her second double-double of the 2015-16 season. Haley Sandin continued her offensive surge by adding 35 points against the Scots. Also reaching double digits in points was Minnie Frederick-Childress and Dakota Ellinghuysen adding 14 and 11. Ellinghuysen also added eight rebounds.
 
Macalester's Lauren Clamage finished with 28 points while teammate Vivi Gregorich added 19 points to help the Scots defeat Bethany in overtime.
 
Bethany (2-3, 0-0) will return to action on Friday, December 4^th when they host Wisconsin-Superior in the first Upper Midwest Athletic Conference game of the season. Tip-off is slated for 7:30 p.m.
