Box Score Men's Basketball Falls to Buena Vista's Sharp Shooting
MANKATO, Minn. – In their final game before the holiday break, the Bethany men's basketball team hosted Buena Vista in a non-conference contest held in the Sports and Fitness Center. The Vikings fell to the Beavers in the fast-paced contest 68-83, dropping their overall record to 3-7, while they remain 2-1 in the UMAC.
Brandyn Frelix led the way for the Vikings once again, as he was the top scorer for Bethany with 12 points on the night.
Neil Eichten provided a spark for Bethany, as he recorded 10 points and three steals on the night. Teammate
Austin Bauer also added nine points for the Vikings, while
Brady Rose led the Vikings with seven rebounds.
For the Vikings,
Chad Jones and
Brandon Egge came off the bench in the second half providing Bethany with competitive play.
Jones scored eight points, while
Egge added six points and three steals.
Bethany ended the game shooting 100% (17-17) from the free throw line, 38.3% (23-60) from the field, and 35.7% (5-14) from the three point line.
For the Beavers, Nick Clark led the way with 19 points, while teammate Kennedy Drey added 15.
The Vikings will return to action January 2
nd, as they travel to Michigan to take on the Finlandia Lions. The game is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. (CST).
