Box Score Men's Basketball Face Tough Wartburg Team
WAVERLY, Iowa – The Bethany men's basketball team traveled with the women's team to Waverly, Iowa to take on the Wartburg Knights in a non-conference basketball game on Tuesday night. The men fell to the Knights in the contest 95-67.
The Knights, who have won the last four meetings, also lead the all-time series at 6-2 following the non-conference contest.
Bethany 1-6 (1-1 in UMAC) faced a tough Wartburg team that played an impressive 40 minutes of basketball to take down the Vikings. Wartburg saw four players reach double figures on the night, while the team shot 51% (37-72) from the field.
For Bethany,
Brady Rose and
Neil Eichten paced the offensive attack with 14 and 12 points respectively. Both
Rose and
Eichten were perfect from the line.
Zach Brandts and
Nick Sanborn each added eight points to the Vikings offensive.
The Vikings shot 43% (25-57) from the field, 29.4% (5-17) from downtown, and 87% (14-16) from the free-throw line.
For the Knights, Nick Webber led all scorers with 17 points in 15 minutes of action. Sawyer Herman, Sam Stoveall, and Jordan Cannon added 13, 11, and 10 points for Wartburg.
