Box Score DULUTH, Minn. - Three weeks ago, Bethany lost a 1-point game to St. Scholastica in Mankato. Friday night was another tight contest with the Saints coming away with another close win over the Vikings 61-59 in UMAC men's basketball.
Bethany fell in an early hole trailing 13-2 five minutes into the game. The Vikings fought back to tie the game at 19 after a
Nick Sanborn lay-in and
Neil Eichten gave them the lead with a pair of free throws with 6:19 left in the half. After St. Scholastica took the lead on a couple occasions, Eichten equaled the score each time; his lay-up made the scored 28-28 with 1:14 remaining in the half. The Saints scored the final five points of the half to lead 33-28 at the break.
Sanborn and Eichten were key in Bethany's 12-0 spurt to start the second half. Sanborn scored nine points and Eichten drained a 3 as Bethany led 40-33. St. Scholastica countered with a 13-2 run to regain the advantage at 46-42 with 9:42 left in the game. The Saints would hold on to the advantage the rest of the way. A

Sanborn scored a season-high 22 points and Eichten scored 15.
