Box Score ASHLAND, Wis. - After trailing by double digits in the second half, the Bethany men's basketball team came back for a season-ending win over Northland 63-61 Saturday in UMAC action.
The Lumberjacks built an 11-point lead by halftime and extended that advantage to 16 at 42-26 with 15:15 left in the contest. Three minutes later, the lead was still at 16 before the Vikings made their comeback.
Adam Wacholz started things off with a 3 in transition and in a little more than two minutes, Bethany had cut their deficit in half at 51-43.
Martin Stevens' lay-in ended a 10-2 spurt to pull the Vikings within three at 56-53 with 4:03 left.
Luke Roddy made the comeback complete when he drained a 3 to tie it at 58 with 2:34 remaining. Forty-four seconds later, Roddy gave Bethany their first lead of the game with another big 3. Those were Roddy's only points of the game.
Northland's Dan Campion countered with a 3 to tie it again at 61 with 1:24 to go.
Brady Rose and
Nate Chadderdon each made 1-of-2 from the foul line to give Bethany a 63-61 with 21 seconds left. Zach Ringhouse's 3 attempt at the buzzer was off and Bethany had the win.
Rose led BLC with 15 points. Chadderdon added 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Bethany wraps up the 2014-15 campaign with 5-20 overall record and 5-9 mark in the UMAC.
