Brandts monster effort propels Vikings to win in finale

Box Score ASHLAND, Wis. - Sophomore Briana Brandts had a stellar conference season, but she saved her best performance for last as the Bethany women easily dispatch of Northland 71-44 in the season finale.

The St. James native scored 29 points and pulled down 21 rebounds; stats that will go down as one of the best all-around games in Bethany program history. The 29 points is good for a tie for fourth in program history in a game and her 21 boards ties her for first. She ended the season with four straight double-doubles and collected ten for the season.

Angela DeBruzzi and Rachel Sorensen also scored in double figures Saturday with 11 and 10 points, respectively. Angie Scheffler finished with seven points and nine rebounds. Lacey Ellinghuysen scored nine.

Bethany built a 40-18 halftime lead holding the Lumberjills to 12 percent shooting from the floor (3-for-25).

The Vikings finish the season at 8-17 overall and 7-7 in the UMAC.
