Box Score ST. PAUL - Northwestern put an end to Bethany's six-game winning streak Friday in the opening game of a three-game set 11-2.
The Eagles got on the scoreboard first in the second inning off Bethany starting pitcherÂ
Ronald Donley. Porter Morrell hit a one-out double down the left field line to put runners in scoring position. Two batters later, Taylor McMurray's single scored a pair to put Northwestern up 2-0.
It remained that way until the sixth when Bethany cut their deficit in half whenÂ
Adam Geiger scored on an error. The Eagles countered with three in their half of the sixth to extend their lead to 5-1.
Bethany added one more in the seventh.Â
Clay Anderson hit a one-out double.Â
Jordan Grams followed with a single to move Anderson over to third andÂ
Joe Tuholsky brought Anderson home with a single to center.
Northwestern put the game out of reach with a six-run eighth to make the final 11-2.
Grams went 3-for-4 for Bethany (12-7, 8-2 in UMAC) as they continue the series Saturday with a doubleheader starting at noon.
