Box Score 2 MANKATO, Minn. - The Bethany baseball team returned home Wednesday for a non-conference doubleheader with MIAC-foe Augsburg. After a tight 4-3 win the opener, the Auggies completed the sweep in the nightcap.
In the first game, freshmanÂ
Hunter Hamers held Augsburg scoreless through five innings while allowing only one hit. The Vikings gave Hamers a lead in the second.

Bethany added a run in the fourth.Â
Nick Caldeen led off with a double to left.Â
Clay Anderson moved him over to third with a single. After two outs,Â
Lucas Herd drove in Caldeen with a single to right to put Bethany up 3-0.
Augsburg's bats picked up in the sixth. With the bases loaded, Abe Welckle doubled down the left line, clearing the bases to tie the game at 3. Welckle scored the go ahead run on a passed ball later in the inning.
Bethany was unable to get the tying run in the final innings and dropped a one run decision. Augsburg won the second game 18-5.
Bethany (12-11) remains home to start a 3-game set with Northland Friday at 3 p.m.
