Box Score MANKATO, Minn. - Bethany kicked off their home schedule in a good way knocking out 20 hits as they topped Martin Luther 11-4 on Thursday.
Four Bethany players had at least three hits led by seniorÂ
Adam Geiger who had a 5-for-5 performance with two doubles and four runs scored.
After the Knights tied the game at 2 in the third, Bethany countered with 3 in their half of the third. Geiger andÂ
Tyler Hebrink both had one out singles.Â
Brandyn Olsen doubled to left to score Geiger thenÂ
Trent Saharek doubled to right center to plate both Hebrink and Olsen.
Bethany added two more in the fifth and four in the seventh. Nine of their 20 hits went for extra bases including triples from bothÂ
Joe Tuholsky andÂ
Lucas Herd.
Herd also did a great job on the mound going 7.1 innings, allowing two unearned runs on five hits while striking out nine.
Bethany (7-6, 3-1 in UMAC) hosts North Central Friday at 3 p.m. for the first game of a 3-game set.
