Box Score Vikings Top Lumberjills in Five
MANKATO, Minn. – The Vikings volleyball team earned their first win of the 2015 campaign Friday night as they opened up vs. Northland in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Preview. Bethany defeated Northland in five sets (25-18, 25-19, 19-25, 18-25, 15-9).
Bethany's
Kristen Mielke (New Germany, Minn./Mayer Lutheran) led the Vikings offense recording 22 kills on the night. Teammates
Alex Hansen (Austin, Minn./Austin) and
Sarah Haynes (Madelia, Minn./Madelia) added 9 and 8 kills on the night in the win over the Lumberjills, while
Alexandra Grejtak (New Ulm, Minn./ New Ulm) topped the leaderboard with 49 assists.
Defensively for the Vikings,
MacKenna Hinz (Burnsville, Minn./Rosemount) recorded 13 digs, while teammates
Jessica Grimsley (Waconia, Minn./Mayer Lutheran) and
Alex Hansen weren't far behind, recording 11 and 10 digs.
Bethany continues play in the UMAC Preview on Saturday, September 19
th as they take on the Crown Storm at 11 a.m. and the North Central Rams at 3 p.m.
