The Vikings got their scoring started early as Nicole Moldstad (North Mankato, Minn./MN Valley Lutheran) scored a goal in the fourth minute of play to take a 1-0 lead over the Rams. The goal was assisted by Bridget Hennen (Apple Valley, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran) off a throw-in. Moldstad would not stop there as she added another goal minutes later off a corner kick by Ali Mix (Oklahoma City, Okla./Western Heights). Taylor Friehl (Albert Lea, Minn.) would score her fourth goal of the season in the 15th minute of play from a combination assist between Mix and Moldstad.

Still in the first half of play, four minutes later, Bridget Hennen found the back of the net to extend the Vikings lead to 4-0. The goal by Hennen was assisted by Friehl on a cross pass.

North Central would add a goal of their own half way through the first half and also a goal late in the second half to cut the Vikings lead in half, 4-2.
