Box Score Women's Soccer Ends in Tie with Martin Luther
NEW ULM, Minn. – The Bethany women's soccer team finished regulation tied 1-1 against Martin Luther before lightning and darkness ended the game. The game will not be resumed, and ended in a 1-1 tie.
The Knights opened the scoring in the 25
th minute of play off a free kick to give the Knights a 1-0 lead. The Vikings tied the game at 1-1 in the 38
th minute when
Ali Mix (Oklahoma City, Okla./Western Heights) scored a goal from an assist by
Lydia Wildauer (Port Washington, Wis./Luther Preparatory). The two teams exchanged possessions for the rest of the first half and the whole second half without either team scoring the deciding goal.
Following regulation, lightning and darkness set in which sent the teams home in a 1-1 tie.
The starting goalkeeper for the Vikings was
Averi Cash (Ottumwa, Iowa) who faced 11 shots on goal during the game. The Vikings attempted 15 shots in the 1-1 tie.
Taylor Friehl (Albert Lea, Minn.) and
Nicole Moldstad (North Mankato, Minn./MN Valley Lutheran) attempted five and four shots during the 90 minutes of play.
