Buena Vista handles Bethany Volleyball

 
STORM LAKE, Iowa – The Bethany Volleyball team traveled to Buena Vista on Tuesday night to take on the Beavers in their home opener. The Vikings fell to Buena Vista in three sets to drop to 0-8 overall.
 
Buena Vista set the tone early and never looked back. The Vikings dropped the first set 10-25 followed by 15-25 and 16-25 scores in the final two sets of the night to fall to the Beavers.
 
Alex Hansen (Austin, Minn.) and Madalyn Elmquist (South St. Paul, Minn.) led the Vikings with five and three kills, respectively. Kristen Mielke (New Germany, Minn./Mayer Lutheran) ended the night with three kills, four blocks, and three assists to add to her already impressive junior season. Defensively, Anna Nelson (Cannon Falls, Minn.) chipped in with a team high 11 digs. The Vikings ended the match with 18 kills, two service aces, four blocks, 16 assists, and 31 digs.
 
The Volleyball team returns to action Tuesday September 15 for their home opener against conference rival Martin Luther starting at 7 p.m. Come out and support your Bethany Vikings as they open up conference play on Tuesday.
