The Yellowjackets started the game very strong, holding a 23-13 lead over the Vikings through the first quarter of play. Bethany answered with a strong second quarter, to trail only by four at the break. In the first half, Briana Brandts lead all scorers with 11 points.

The Vikings (9-9, 6-4 in UMAC) took their first true lead of the contest with five minutes remaining in the third quarter when Minnie Frederick-Childress knocked down a pair of free throws to lead 44-42. The Vikings out-scored the Yellowjackets 20-16 in the third frame to knot the score at 55 entering the final quarter of UMAC basketball.

The largest lead for the Vikings came in the fourth quarter when Dakota Ellinghuysen scored in the paint to lead 64-59 with 07:13 remaining.
