Box Score Women's Basketball Completes Weekend Sweep
ASHLAND, Wis. – On Sunday afternoon the Bethany women's basketball team earned their fifth victory of the season as they defeated the Northland Lumberjills in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference game. The final score from the Kendrigan Gymnasium was 71-60.
In the conference showdown, Bethany saw a balance scoring attack as four Vikings reached double figures. Leading the way for Bethany was senior
Briana Brandts who recorded her fourth double-double of the 2015-16 season. The forward finished the game with 18 points and 14 rebounds
. Dakota Ellinghuysen and
Minnie Frederick-Childress added 16 and 12 points, respectively.
Also reaching double-figures in the victory over the Lumberjills was
Christina Wickingson who finished with 11 points.
Haley Sandin added eight points in the contest.
Bethany (5-7, 2-2 in UMAC) forced Northland to 25 in the contest, and out-rebounded the Lumberjills 42-36 to earn their second victory in as many days.
On Friday, January 8
th the women's basketball team will play host to the Northwestern Eagles starting at 7:30 p.m.
