MANKATO, Minn. – The Vikings and Knights met again on Thursday night. This match-up was an
Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) game played at the BLC Soccer Field. Martin Luther scored a goal two minutes into the second overtime period to earn a 2-1 victory over Bethany.

Bethany had a strong start to the game, as
Kenneth Johnson (Otsego, Minn.) opened the scoring in the seventh minute, earning his third goal of the 2016 season. Johnson's goal ended MLC goalkeepers shutout streak at four games and nearly 400 total minutes.

Martin Luther would respond in the 38
th minute on a penalty kick to take a 1-1 tie into halftime. The two teams went back and forth for the remainder, with each team having multiple chances to put the ball in the back of the net for the win. Martin Luther would score the game-winning goal two minutes into the second overtime period to earn their fourth UMAC win of the season.

Bethany finished with nine shots on goal compared to the Knights 13.
