ST. PAUL, Minn.  – The Bethany volleyball team continued their 2016 season on Tuesday afternoon on the campus of Northwestern. The Vikings played an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) match against the Eagles before playing St. Kate's in a non-conference match in the night cap.

Bethany dropped both matches of the triangular, falling to 6-14 overall and 1-3 in conference.

Match one: Northwestern defeats Bethany 3-0 (15-25, 6-25, 6-25)
Match two: St. Kate's defeats Bethany 3-2 (25-14, 25-21, 26-28, 18-25, 18-20)
Megan Rutt (Le Center, Minn.) and
Rachel Sorensen (Windom, Minn.) finished the five-set match with 17 and 16 kills, respectively.
Kristen Mielke (New Germany, Minn.) added 11 kills. The assists leader for Bethany in match two was
Jasmine Carlson (Windom, Minn.). The sophomore finished with 41 set assists. On the defensive side, junior
Anna Nelson (Cannon Falls, Minn.) collected 32 digs in the efforts against the Wildcats.

On Saturday the volleyball team will travel to Morris for an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference matchup against the Cougars from Minnesota Morris. Scheduled start time is 3 p.m.
