FOREST CITY, Iowa – In preparation for the 2016-17 Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) season, the Bethany women's basketball team traveled to Waldorf on Tuesday night to earn their first victory of the season, defeating the Warriors 82-67.

Offensively, a balance scoring attack helped secure the first victory of the season for the women's basketball team, as four Vikings reached double figures in the scoring column. Sophomore
Haley Sandin (Zimmerman, Minn.) found her stroke in the second half, finishing with a game high 26 points in 40 minutes of court time. Seniors
Minnie Frederick-Childress (Flint, Mich.) and
Christina Wickingson (Mason, Wis.) added 16 and 14 points apiece, while junior
Brooke Henning (Worthington, Minn.) scored 10 first half points for Bethany.

Head Coach Lyle Jones and his Vikings shot 44.1% (30-68) from inside the three point line while connecting on 43.8% (7-17) from the outside. The Vikings forced 27 Waldorf turnovers.

The Vikings (1-3) resume play on Saturday, December 3
rd when they travel to Martin Luther for the first UMAC game of the 2016-17 season. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. against the Knights.
