ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – On Saturday afternoon the Bethany Lutheran women's basketball team got back on track with an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) win over the Crown Storm. The Vikings knocked off the Storm with a 58-48 victory.
After two weeks into the conference season, the Vikings currently sit at 2-1 and 3-5 overall while the Storm fall to 0-3 (in conference) and 0-8 overall.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Sophomore Haley Sandin led all scorers with 13 points, shooting 5-6 from the free throw line
- Senior Anna Balcom added 12 points to the BLC offensive attack.
- Junior Brooke Henning finished with 11 points, shooting 50.0% (2-4) from three's.
- Senior Minnie Frederick-Childress contributed with seven rebounds, five assists, and five steals.
- The Vikings shot 30.8% (20-65) from the field.
- The largest lead for Bethany was late in the second half when they led by as many as 22 points.
- BLC held the advantage in rebounds (45-36).
UP NEXT:
Bethany will return to the Sports and Fitness Center next Friday and Saturday night when they welcome the University of Wisconsin-Superior and St. Scholastica for UMAC games.
