MANKATO, Minn. – The Bethany Lutheran women's basketball team returned to their home floor on Friday night following an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) win over Crown College this past Saturday. The Vikings played host to the University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets. UW-Superior overcame the Vikings by a final score of 78-61.
Following the loss, the Vikings fall to 3-6 overall and 2-2 in conference play while the Yellowjackets improve to a 7-4 overall mark and 4-0 record in conference action.
Sophomore
Haley Sandin (Zimmerman, Minn.) led all scorers in the contest. The guard finished with 21 points in 33 minutes of action.
Dakota Ellinghuysen (Peterson, Minn.) added 11 points and seven rebounds while
Christina Wickingson (Mason, Wis.) had six points in 30 minutes of play.
The Vikings shot 35.7% (20-56) from the field and 6.7% (1-15) from beyond the three-point arc while the Yellowjackets shot 43.7% (31-71) from the field and 44.4% (8-18) beyond the arc. UW-Superior collected 50 total rebounds compared the Vikings 32. Both teams committed 15 turnovers.
Hannah Norlin and Hailey Kontny led the Yellowjackerts with 15 points apiece.

Bethany Lutheran will next play tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m. against St. Scholastica in the North Gym of the Sports and Fitness Center.
