MANKATO, Minn. – The Bethany Lutheran men's basketball team began its final conference games of the calendar year on Friday night against the University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets. The Vikings were victorious, downing the Yellowjackets 89-76.
The Vikings improve to 2-2 in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play and 4-5 overall.
Junior
Brady Rose (Le Sueur, Minn.) had a career night in the efforts over UW-Superior. The junior finished with 23 points, nine rebounds, and four assists in 31 minutes of court time. Senior
Brandyn Frelix (Minneapolis, Minn.) contributed with 16 points and four assists while
Austin Bauer (Caledonia, Minn.) added 13 points and two assists.
Sophomore
Blake Lindstrom (Hanley Falls, Minn.) drained three three-pointers off the bench for the Vikings while teammates
Jarred Merchant (Kimball, Minn.) and
Neil Eichten (Wabasso, Minn.) both had eight points and five rebounds.
The Vikings finished the 40 minute contest with 22 team assist. Coach Fletcher's Vikings shot 50.0% (34-68) from the field while connecting on 52.0% (13-25) from beyond the three-point arc. BLC held the advantage on the glass, collecting 43 rebounds to the 32 from UWS.

Tomorrow afternoon (5 p.m.) the Vikings will play host to the St. Scholastica Saints in another UMAC contest.
