MANKATO, Minn. – Heading into the final conference game before the New Year, the Bethany Lutheran women's basketball team played host to St. Scholastica on Saturday afternoon in the
Upper Midwest Athletic Conference Game of the Week. The Vikings were successful, defeating the Saints 56-38.
Following the victory, the Vikings improve to 3-2 in the conference and 4-6 overall while the Saints fall to a 2-3 UMAC record and 3-8 overall.
Junior
Brooke Henning (Worthington, Minn.) powered the Bethany women's basketball team over St. Scholastica with her 20 points and nine rebounds off the bench.
Dakota Ellinghuysen (Peterson, Minn.) had a stellar performance, finishing with 16 points and nine rebounds. Both Henning and Ellinghuysen played 33 minutes.
Minnie Frederick-Childress (Flint, Minn.) started at guard for BLC and played the entire 40 minutes to finish with 10 points, five assists, and five steals.
Head Coach Lyle Jones and his Vikings shot 37.7% (20-53) from the field and connected on 71.4% (15-21) from the free-throw line.
BLC concluded the contest with 41 rebounds compared to the Saints 34. The Vikings took advantage of St. Scholastica's 27 turnovers which translated to 26 points the other way.

th on the road against Macalester. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
