MORRIS, Minn. – The Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) season continued on Friday night as the Vikings traveled to the University of Minnesota-Morris for a battle against the Cougars. It was the Cougars coming out with a 96-78 win over the Vikings.

Bethany is now 1-1 in the conference and 3-4 overall while Minnesota-Morris improves to 1-1 in the UMAC and 5-3 overall.

Sophomore
Austin Bauer (Caledonia, Minn.) led the Vikings offensively with 12 points in 19 minutes of action. The guard was 4-6 from the field while connecting on 4-4 from the free throw line.
Neil Eichten (Wabasso, Minn.) and
Jarred Merchant (Kimball, Minn.) each had 11 points in the efforts against the Cougars.
Brady Rose (Le Sueur, Minn.) and
Brandyn Frelix (Minneapolis, Minn.) each had 10 points. Merchant and Frelix led Bethany in the rebound category with five apiece.

The Vikings shot 41.5% (27-65) from the field, connecting on 31.3% (10-32) from the outside while Minnesota-Morris finished at 60.9% (39-64) from the field and 53.3% (8-15) from three-point range. UMM held the advantage with 42 points in the paint compared to the Vikings 28 points in the paint.
