Box Score Women's Basketball Knocks off North Central
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Bethany women's basketball team returned to the floor on Friday night looking for their fourth win in a row. The Vikings traveled to North Central to take on the Rams in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference contest. The Vikings were victorious against the Rams, winning 71-50.
The Vikings are now 13-9 overall and 9-4 in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference entering Saturday's game against Northwestern.
After a tight first quarter the Vikings led 18-15 after 10 minutes. The second quarter proved to be decisive as the Vikings extended their advantage to 40-27 and North Central spent the rest of the game trying to fight their way back.
Haley Sandin provided the Vikings with 25 points in 37 minutes of playing time. The freshman finished the game shooting 6-12 from the field and recording nine points from beyond the arc while adding 10 free throws.
Briana Brandts chipped in with 10 points and seven rebounds while
Shelby Sicheneder added eight points on the offensive end.
Minnie Frederick-Childress recorded five steals on the night, staying atop the nation in steals this season.
Shooting percentage was the key on Friday as the Vikings fired 25-53 (.472) while NCU shot just 20-58 (.345)
