The Yellow Jackets locked up the No. 1 seed with a decisive victory over the University of Northwestern-St. Paul in exciting fashion Friday. The victory also helped the Yellow Jackets secure their second-straight conference tournament after claiming the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) crown a year ago.
As the top seed in the women's tournament, the Yellow Jackets will host a semifinal game Wednesday evening against the winner of Monday's quarterfinal game between No. 4 University of Minnesota Morris and No. 5 Martin Luther College at 7:30 p.m. in Superior, Wisconsin.
The No. 4-seed Cougars locked up a right to host Monday's matchup with a set of wins this weekend over Martin Luther and No. 3-seed Bethany Lutheran College. The Cougars – who finished the season 9-7 in the UMAC and 14-11 overall – will make their 11th-straight UMAC postseason appearance.
