ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Bethany baseball team concluded their season on Friday afternoon against Hamline University at the home of the St. Paul Saints, CHS Field in downtown St. Paul. The Pipers took the first game of the doubleheader by a score of 7-5 before handling the Vikings 20-1 in game two.

GAME ONE: Hamline 7, Bethany Lutheran 5
The Vikings out-hit the Pipers in the first game of the split doubleheader. The Vikings scattered 11 hits compared to Hamline's seven.

In the top of the third inning,
Drew Quame (Eagle Lake, Minn.) hit his seventh home run of the season to put the Vikings on the board first.
Nick Caldeen (Blaine, Minn.),
Alek Zentzis (Forest Lake, Minn.), and
Trent Saharek (San Clemante, Calif.) each had two hits for Bethany.

GAME TWO: Hamline 20, Bethany Lutheran 1
Under the lights at CHS field in game two, it was the Pipers who took control early in the ballgame and never looked back. They finished the contest with 20 hits while the Vikings had two hits over the course of seven innings.

The Vikings concluded the 2016 campaign with an overall record of 9-21 and 7-9 record in conference action.
