MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.  – The volleyball team concluded the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference preview on Saturday with two matches. Bethany opened the day with a match loss to North Central before finishing the preview with a victory over Crown.

In the first match on Saturday, North Central defeated Bethany in four sets (25-17, 19-25, 26-28, 21-25).
Meagan Sons (Green Isle, Minn.) and
Megan Rutt (Le Center, Minn.) led the Vikings with 12 and 11 kills while
Jasmine Carlson (Windom, Minn.) finished the match with 36 set assists.

Four different Vikings collected double-digit digs as
Allyson Lauer (Maplewood, Minn.) led the team with 20.
Shelby Sicheneder (Watertown, Minn.),
Anna Nelson (Cannon Falls, Minn.) and
Carlson finished with 14, 13, and 11 digs.

In the victory over Crown (25-21, 21-25, 26-15, 28-26),
Rutt finished with a career high 18 kills for Bethany.
Jessica Grimsley (Waconia, Minn.) recorded 17 digs while teammates
Nelson and
Carlson added 13 digs apiece.
Carlson finished the four-set match with 50 set assists.

What's next:
Bethany will now travel to New Ulm on Tuesday, September 20 for a non-conference match against the rivals from Martin Luther. Scheduled start time is set for 7 p.m.
