ASHLAND, Wis. – After three straight non-conference wins against three Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) opponents, the women's volleyball team opened up play in the UMAC schedule by traveling to Northland College to take on the Lumberjills. The Vikings rattled off their fourth straight win by a score of 3-1.
The Vikings attack was firing on all cylinders as they registered four players with double-digit kills. Lone senior
Kristen Mielke (New Germany, Minn.) captained the charge with 13 of the teams 56 kills.
Rachel Sorensen (Windom, Minn.) and
Megan Rutt (Le Center, Minn.) each recorded 12 kills, while
Haley Domonoske (Waterville, Minn) finished the match with 10. Setter
Jasmine Carlson (Windom, Minn.) registered 47 assists on the match for the Vikings.
On the defensive side,
Jessica Grimsley (Waconia, Minn.) amassed 18 digs, while
Anna Nelson (Cannon Falls, Minn.) followed her with 15. At the net,
Mielke recorded four blocks, followed by
Sorensen and
Alannah Menk (St. Cloud, Minn.) each collecting two.
Up next:
Bethany will now play Martin Luther in a UMAC matchup on Tuesday night in the Sports and Fitness Center on the campus of Bethany Lutheran College at 7 p.m. In the last meeting, the Vikings defeated the Knights in four sets.
