Women's Soccer Completes Weekend Sweep
ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Bethany women's soccer team played the Rockford Regents on Monday afternoon in a non-conference contest. The Vikings kept their winning ways alive with a 3-0 victory, to improve to 2-1 on the young season.
Through the game's first 45 minutes, Bethany and Rockford remained scoreless while the Vikings attempted nine shots compared to the Regents one.
In the second half of play,
Rachel Bitter (Bemidji, Minn.) scored her fourth goal of the season in the 54
th minute to put the Vikings on the scoreboard first.
Elena De Vera (St. Paul, Minn.) assisted on the goal with a cross from the left side to set
Bitter up for the score.
Halfway through the second period of play, junior
Nicole Moldstad (North Mankato, Minn.) capitalized on a free kick to extend the Vikings lead to two goals. Ten minutes later, freshman
Bridget Brown (North Mankato, Minn.) received a pass through the defense from
Adalia Dualan (Chanhassen, Minn.) to score her first collegiate goal to propel Bethany to a 3-0 victory.
On Thursday, Sept. 7
th the women's soccer team will welcome the Bethel Royals to the BLC Soccer Field for a 7 p.m. start.
