Vikings Drop Home Opener

MANKATO, Minn. – The Bethany volleyball team began the home portion of their 2016 schedule on Tuesday night against Buena Vista, a member of the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. The Beavers came into the match with a 2-2 record while the Vikings were 1-3. Buena Vista won the contest by a score of 3-0.

Megan Rutt (Le Center, Minn.) led the charge with four kills for the Vikings, while
Rachel Sorensen (Windom, Minn.) followed with three.
Jasmine Carlson (Windom, Minn.) and
Allyson Lauer (Maplewood, Minn.) each totaled four assists for the Vikings. Lauer also had six digs for the Vikings while
Mackenna Hinz (Burnsville, Minn.) led Bethany with seven. Rutt,
Kristen Mielke (New Germany, Minn.) and
Haley Domonoske (Waterville, Minn.) all recorded three blocks for the Vikings.

With the loss, the Vikings move to 1-4 on the season and next on the schedule is a non-conference matchup with the Blazers from Saint Benedict at the UW-Stevens Point Invitational on Friday, Sept. 9
th at 4 p.m.
