ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Bethany Lutheran men's basketball team traveled to play the University of Northwestern on Friday night, looking for their fourth consecutive win, and handing the Eagles their first conference loss of the season. The Vikings fought back several times throughout the 40 minute contest, but it was the Eagles capitalizing late to overcome the Vikings by a final score of 82-81.

Brandyn Frelix (Minneapolis, Minn.) recorded his sixth double-double of the 2016-17 campaign in the efforts against UNW. The forward finished 10-20 from the field while connecting on a pair of three's to finish with 27 points while adding 11 defensive rebounds. Junior
Neil Eichten (Wabasso, Minn.) played 35 minutes for BLC, scoring 13 points while dishing out four assists. Sophomore
Jarred Merchant (Kimball, Minn.) brought down eight boards to go along with his 10 points.

Both teams shot 43% from the field of play while BLC held the 41-37 advantage in the rebound category.
